Posterior Segemental Instrumentation

This spinal instrumentation is used with a posterior spinal fusion in the treatment of various spinal disorders.

This system consists of two rods that lie posteriorly on each side of the vertebrae. The rods are attached to the spinal column by hooks or screws and are connected by two horizontal devices for increased strength.

The instrumentation provides internal support to the spine while it is healing. Your surgeon will decide if you will need the support of a cast or brace after the surgery.
